My name is Taylor Allum, founder of Candy Apple Productions. I’m a drummer, music producer,

and all-around music fanatic based in Nashville Tennessee.

As a teenager playing bands and making music with my friends, I was exposed to the world of

music production for the first time. It started as just being around the process, offering my

opinion on the music as we worked through it. But before long, I was asked to help produce an

album myself for the first time. I didn’t realize it at the time, but looking back it’s clear to see that

is where my journey as a lifelong musician started, and where Candy Apple Productions began.

Today, I’m proud to be working full-time as a drummer and producer in Vancouver. Making

music is such a personal thing, so I’m honoured to be a part of the process for so many

outstanding artists. I’ve come a long way from my first ever cross-Canada tour, (which involved

driving from Vancouver to Halifax in an old Corolla and doing three shows a day!) but I’ve never

forgotten that all-important player perspective – or the instincts that come with it.

Making music for a living is its own reward. But throughout my career I’ve been humbled again

and again by the talent I’m surrounded by and the creative spaces I’m able to work within. I’ve

been a part of some truly phenomenal projects, such as:

● 8 BC Country Music Award-winning projects

● 1 Canadian Country Music Award-nominated project

● 4 Top 20 singles

I’m also proud to say that my work has over 10 million total streams across platforms!

For me, nothing is more important than treating every project with the dedication it deserves. No

two songs, albums, or artists are alike, so it’s vital to approach them with an open mind, a

commitment to the artist’s vision, and most importantly, the willingness to try anything.

As a drummer, I strive to be authentic to myself on every project I work on. Whereas some

musicians take pride in being chameleons who blend into any given song, I do me – and I do it

well.

As a producer, I take a lot of joy in bringing visions into reality. I experiment, learn from my

mistakes, and have fun as I work at it – because for me, nothing is more fun than creating

music. My production services are flexible, and I’m happy to take on any and all roles on a

project, from recording, to musical direction, to production, and beyond. I have access to some

of Vancouver’s best studios, as well as contacts for top-notch, award-winning musicians to help

out.

Over the years, I’ve gained experience playing and producing in countless genres, including:

● Country

● Blues

● R&B

● Funk

● Pop

● Metal

Of course, I’m always expanding my knowledge and learning more about music, as well as

making sure I stay up-to-date on what’s hot and what’s not in today’s music industry. That’s why

I embrace new challenges, constantly listen to new music, and continually take lessons from

some of the best musicians around.
